That would certainly be the EASIEST, but it still doesn't solve the problem
of who should RECEIVE the royalties which BMI/ASCAP gets. It can't
reasonably just divide the royalties to every existing copyright holder.
It would be simple to figure out where the royalties should go if the bar
only had a house band which played James Brown songs, but that is not the
norm.
I don't know the answer. Anyone here live in NY and can call BMI to ask?
