I got a call from a fellow Audi enthusiast last year - could I go down for
a couple of days and fix his cars?

OK.

The domestic situation was odd.  He was with a second partner who also had
a child. They could almost have been twins - a boy and a girl around ten
years old.  Very well brought up, very polite.

We had the Saturday reserved for quattro work.  His partner was working
that day, so I asked what the kids would be doing.

"Playing video games."

Riiight.

I looked in on them.  They had a mat on the floor with pressure sensors in
it, and the deal was to out-break-dance the video.  Both were exhausted and
covered with sweat - watching one of them have a go at it was like watching
an extreme athlete.  They were having a great time.  And the dog kept
joining in.
