Newly released for ALPHA level testing and comment is version 2.55 of ARJ.
New features of ARJ 2.55 include:
 1) Support of Windows 95 long filenames under Win95 DOS box.
 2) Capability to build DUAL-NAME archives and SFX archives that will
    extract properly both to Windows 95 and to DOS.
 3) ARJ-PROTECT data damage protection option that allows repair of
    damaged "protected" ARJ files.
 4) Display support of ANSI escape display sequences in ARJ comments and
    files without ANSI.SYS.
 5) Support for multiple volume updating.
 6) Support for multiple volume ARJ-SECURITY.
 7) Improved encryption via the Russian GOST algorithm.
 8) Support for ARJing several backups (CHAPTERS) to a SINGLE archive and
    restoring any individual backup.  The advantage is major disk space
    savings when many files have not changed from backup to backup.
This release comes in two files named ARJ255.EXE and ARJ255X.EXE.  The
second file ARJ255X.EXE is intended for export use outside of the USA.
