From: Gary Britt 1. Because people like me don't trust either the democrats or the republicans to really secure the border and stop the flow of illegal immigrants, these immigration bills are just seen as the beginning of continuing amnesty deals for 10's of millions of more illegal aliens next year and every year after this reform. People like me do not trust the politicians of either party to build the fences, fund the border patrol, and put military if necessary on the border to stop the flood of illegal aliens into the country. More illegal aliens cross the border every month than the entire size of the military presence in Iraq. That's an invasion to people like me. 2. Therefore people like me say first show us that illegal crossings at the border have been reduced by MORE than 90% BEFORE you even start talking to us about what to do with the people already here. 3. Immigration reform isn't granting citizenship and voting rights just to 12 million illegals. Its really 20 or 24 million illegals by some counts and when the family members are added its granting citizenship and voting rights to not 12 to 24 million illegals its granting voting and citizenship rights to 120 Million illegals and their families over the next 10 to 20 years. That represents a sudden increase of 1/3 of the population. Illegal immigrants can be brought out of the shadows and given legal status without granting them citizenship ahead of the normal legal process for applying for citizenship. 4. Last on the list would be concerns that we are rewarding law breaking with citizenship, but that concern is magnified by the belief that the border will never be secured and we will forever be rewarding continued law breaking with citizenship. Similarly, if they were to first really secure the border and show a *real* and demonstrated reduction in illegal crossings by over 90% then this concern would be diminished in importance. 5. If your only view of America is from PBS then you aren't really getting anything but a highly skewed left wing view that is held only by a minority of the population. Fox News Channel would be far more representative of the views held by the majority of the population on this and most (perhaps not all) other matters actually.
