An hour ago I heard a more in-depth media treatment of the issue. It's made
me even more irritated with the crappy and superficial media that generally
plague our lives, because early media reports seemed so cut-and-dry that it
was obvious that Wolfowitz had made a big mistake, and should go.

However, the more detailed story claimed:
- The gf has been working at the World Bank for a few years.
- She is talented, and was in a senior position.
- Wolfowitz raised the issue with the ethics committee when he arrived.
- That committee insisted that he take part in the discussions, and came
up with the solution of moving her to a better job elsewhere, so there
couldn't be a conflict-of-interest at the World Bank.

If true, the above puts a very different light on the matter. It certainly
allows claims that Wolfowitz was set up.
