There are times when I wonder if Otto has more than a brain stem.

I read about a guy in France who went to the doctor because of weakness in
his limbs. They did a CT scan and MRI and found that he only had a small
part of his brain that remained. When he was an infant, he had a shunt in
his brain to drain the build up of fluid. The shunt was removed later in
his childhood and the fluid started displacing his brain.

They did an IQ test on him after the MRI and found he had the IQ of 75 --
well below the 100 average, but above that of those deemed mentally 
retarded.

When I read the story, I thought of Otto.
