Yup. Where HP & Dell lead others follow esp with the new update
mechanism Sun are putting into Java (kinda like windows update but for
java).

I agree with this & in fact I don't think there is even a medium or
long term threat "that the market for general purpose,
Internet-enabled distributed computing platforms will tip in favor of
.NET."

Minority tastes are catered for however as there is a c# plugin for Eclipse
just as there's one for COBOL.
