There may still be some confusion here. A DOS floppy boots fine. DOS
on the HDD is OK; a USB KB even works under DOS, P&P. W98SE from the
HDD works.

Partition Magic 3.05 and 6 will not run; one puts up an error box, the
other just stops loading. Generally, the first thing I do with a new
system or MB is boot a DOS floppy and run PM from a floppy. That is
my basic hardware check. If I cannot get past that I figure something
is seriously wrong. I think I also tried it from the HDD.

Almost all of my HDDs are in plugin racks. They are all cloned off a
common parent installation of W4 UPDATECD. I have complete cloned
HDDs as backups for each box. I plugged one of those into each of the
AMD 64 MBs.

On both MBs, OS/2 boots to a desktop. But I have no KB or mouse input.

On that HDD I went ahead and setup W98SE -- that was already installed
-- for the ECS MB. W98SE works, so I declared the ECS a Win box.
Like I needed one of those.

But, I have not given up on AMD. I now have an ASUS MB.

One more time.
