subject: SWRs & more power DEBATE

-> When I was on CB I could get a reading with just 4 watts, so I am a
-> little confused as to why 2-meters would do this. Maybe both the
-> meters I used are
-> cheap, but both are new, and well I am concerned that they are not
-> showing a
-> true reading. Could it be my coax, it is Mini foam 95% shielded, I
-> just don't know.
  If you are trying to use your CB SWR meter I can see ythe problem.
There is a reason most SWR meters are only rated up to 30 MHZ, and
that there are SWR units advertized fro use on VHF/UHF frequencies.
THEY don't work as well because they are not designed or Calibrated for
VHF readings. I have the Radio Shack unit DESIGNED for 144/440 and don't
have the problems you are talking about.
