I do not understand your objection to XP. I refuse to use IE because of
its susceptibility to the problems you refer to - therefore have none of
the multitude of problems associated with IE/XP. I keep my virus
signature files up to date, have a good firewall and use a router. XP
works excellently here. Instead of denying yourself the excellent
features of XP, just drop the use of IE and enjoy the benefits of XP over
9X. Virtually all of my XP problems have been self induced.
