Jane Kelley On (13 Dec 96) was overheard to say to Mark Probert
JK> It is malpractice today to prescribe certain drugs for children with a
JK> family history of alcoholism.
Malpractice is what a court says it is...not a nurse with an anti
medication use agenda.
JK> Concerning the treatment of children
JK> with ADHD, a local doctor, a specialist in addiction, states that it
JK> is first necessary to treat the underlying alcoholism before
JK> medicating the child in question.
A genetic predisposition to alcoholism is NOT the same thing as being
an alcoholic.
Does this doctor have a name? Where has he published his findings?
Have they been peer reviewed? Has any of his research been
replicated by anyone else and similarly reported on?
JK> I have met the qualifications for someone who does diagnose
JK> and treat alcoholism and drug addiction in this state since
JK> the early 1980's.
What are those qualifications Jane? In this state to make a medical
diagnosis an individual must have completed all the requirements
necessary to be granted a license to practice medicine. They are
commonly referred to as medical doctors.
... Is this yours? Your dog left it on my lawn ...
