Je concur.  I am using XP on a dual 300 MHz. CPU system.  Certain actions are
certainly slow but survive-able.  It's got more to do with the
"snap" of the
system than an additional second or two to start up.  Now, when I get to image
processing, speed is everything but I couldn't afford a mini-Cray...
