-> > Is this method too simplistic and am I missing some advantage in not -> > using readers and packets? (BlueWave and QWK packets as an example) -> How many phone lines do you have? Does your local phone company -> bill for calls by the minute? Or is all your on-line time with -> a BBS free? -> These are points which must be considered when thinking about -> using an off-line reader. And that is a very BIG one. In my case if I still had only One Phone Line using QWK packets(OR Equal) would have bene a necisity. But with a Dediucated "Modem" line it is not a necessity. Although I am fibbing a little as it concerns my preference fo Live On like work, as I do use Agent for what little Newsgroup work I do and it is just the Modern equlilvent of the old Packet Reader programs. As is any "E" mail Reader. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Shakey Jake's *ALL FREE BBS* Santee, CA (1:202/1324) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 202/1324 10/3 106/2000 1 379/1 633/267 |
