Hello All,
I am considering purchase of either the Trek 2300 Carbon/Aluminum or the
Canonndale SR500 with an Ultegra/105 combinatin upgrade. I've done a bit of
reading on both frames, but have been able to determine which may actually
accomadate my needs. I am an avid rider, riding about 1000 to 1500 miles a
month (road of course), and am looking for a bike with really good components
at an affordable price. Now both the bikes I mentioned above come in locally
at about $1600.00. The 2300 comes with a complete Shimano Ultegra 600
component set while the SR500 comes with an RSX/105 combo, which I would
upgrade to an Ultegra/105 combo. From what I have been able to determine the
Canonndale has the most explosive frame out of the saddle, while I read that
the 2300 has a comfortable ride over long distance. Power is one thing I
want. I am one of those power hungry riders. I love forcing a hill with all
I have, and there are plenty of those in the Ft. Riley, Kansas area. So in
order to help my decission process, I have decided to ask other for their
personal opinions on the frames I am considering. So, with this in mind,
please send me any comments you may have on the frames or the components.
Personal, professional, experience, whatever. Anything at all on these bikes
is appreciated.
Sincerely,
David Hedtke
