subject: XCOPY failure with UDF

This isn't the first time, and frankly it renders xcopy useless; not
only because it fails inexcusably but furthermore it aborts without
completion.

----begin paste----
G:\terrapin\Duckwrth\Photos\10522\1052228P.JPG
SYS1187: XCOPY cannot access the target file.

2542 file(s) copied.

....
The Operating System/2 Version is 4.50
10/29/01 11:02p 52576 A---- N:\OS2\XCOPY.EXE

----end paste----

command was
xcopy g:\terrapin k:\terrapin\ /h/o/t/s/e/r/v

K happens in this case to be DVD formatted and chkdsk'd with current
UDF

there is one writing device for cd/dvd; and another cd-readonly device,
as shown:
the Lite-On DVD/RW is NOT listed as a "Supported Drive Model" in
udf215.txt

and I have to conclude for now that *that* is *the* problem.

>cdrecord -scanbus
        0,1,0 1) 'LITE-ON ' 'DVDRW SOHW-1633S' 'BS0H' Removable
CD-ROM
        0,2,0 2) 'SONY ' 'CD-ROM CDU5211 ' 'YYS7' Removable
CD-ROM

>cdrecord dev=3D0,1,0 -inq
Cdrecord 2.0 (i386-pc-os2_emx) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 J=F6rg Schilling
scsidev: '0,1,0'
scsibus: 0 target: 1 lun: 0
Using libscg version 'schily-0.7'
Device type : Removable CD-ROM
Version : 2
Response Format: 2
Capabilities :
Vendor_info : 'LITE-ON '
Identifikation : 'DVDRW SOHW-1633S'
Revision : 'BS0H'
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD-R/DVD-RW.
