Hola Carol :) Friday December 06 2002 20:02, Carol Shenkenberger decˇa a Felipe T. Dorado: SH>> You might consider waking up and smelling the coffee. The future of SH>> Fidonet is not in POTS nodes but in IP nodes and the sooner you SH>> started FTD>> What an insistence in taking for granted that objections to something FTD>> means complete disapproval! FTD>> As if we were all blind ... as well };) CS> Felipe, sonme of the Z1 nodes are so tired of being told they do not CS> belong, that they get a bit short in the reply and perhaps, a bit rude :) Don't worry. My answer could be seen a little rude also ;) In fact it was not really directed at him personally because of what he said. One also gets tired of being told that inet is the future. C ramba! I knew that since the eighties even before I knew anything about Fido and modems. IP only advocates are not the only ones who think on this planet. If those nodes are told that so much I think they shpould find out the reason why. If just about everyone blink their car lights at you one would eventually wonder why. CS> although the actual phrase above 'smelling the coffee' isnt CS> normally considered 'rude'. It means more like 'hey, listen to CS> me, I have something to say and do not want to be ignored'. Thank you for the explanation. It actually confirms what I "smelled" it meant ;) It was the first time I heard/read it and I didn't see it as rude. CS> Steven mauy not be right, but I do not think he was CS> intentionally rude. He merely did not know how it would come CS> across to you. Thank you very much. I hope he and I have no problems understanding each other's views, ... and then disagree };)) Felipe :) --- Fastecho 1.45/GED/Fd 2.12* Origin: El Zoco BBS, Califato de Cordoba - Cordoba (Spain) (2:345/702) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 345/702 341/200 14 261/38 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
