Major League umpires, who have a no-strike clause in their contract, intend
to strike the remainder of the postseason due to their unhappiness with the
way the Roberto Alomar "Expectorgate" situation has been handled. If they
strike, they should all be fired, just as the air traffic controllers were
several years back. REgardless of the ineptitude of A.L. President Gene
Budig for imposing such a minor punishment as a five game suspension, and
regardless of the fact that the major league suspension/appeal system stinks,
the umpires signed a contract and are bound to honor it. *adh*
