              CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM GAGS GUN OWNERS
You wouldn't wear a blindfold while marking your ballot on
election day, would you?  Well, if the supporters of campaign
finance reform have their way, you might as well!  Under their
plan, you won't know which candidates support your Second
Amendment rights and which candidates would vote to ban your
guns.  The campaign finance reform bills currently pending on
Capitol Hill, S. 1219 & H.R. 2566, would stop groups of like-
minded citizens -- NRA members, for example -- from speaking with
a common voice regarding specific candidates.  Under these
proposals, NRA would be prohibited from providing our members
with information on candidates, as we do now with our political
preference charts, leaving you to rely on the candidates
themselves for information on their positions on firearms issues
-- and we all know some candidates will say anything to get
elected!  With the voices of America's gun owners stifled, the
media would have even more power to influence elections than they
have today!  Members: Please call your U.S. Senators &
Representatives at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to oppose S. 1219
and H.R. 2566 or any similar bill.
