Is it TRUE that Mark O'Neill REALLY talked about Good Amiga BBSs to Greg Hope on
07 Dec 96  18:23:14?

 MO>> he did last year. ;-) I must install it again soon anyway for my own

 MO> Why encrypt the password? What's the benefit of doing that? dunce's hat>

Mark,

Simply because nothing on Internet is sacred. It was news to me a few
months back but apparently it *IS* possible for some remote location to use
a sniffer to grab the packet sending your password to your ISP. Dont ask me
how - I really dont know and to be honest, I am so insignificant, it isnt
likely to happen to me. ;-}

 GH> to logon to the ISP from when I start, now. ;-}

 MO> I wonder why? Hmm... :-)

Instead of waiting for prompts and sending replies galore, all the script
now does is tell the modem to dial and that is it. ;-}

Rgs, Greg.
