Thanks for pointing me to the maintenance menu. I printed a test page 
and saw no evidence of head misalignment. Nevertheless I did several 
passes through the realignment process and got what I felt were 
"perfect" results. I still get the vertical band through my color 
prints. I watched as it prints and saw that it was not printing in all 
thee colors. I am not sure that what is wrong with my printer is fixable 
through the head realignment process.

I don't think I have ink dried in a nozzle because, except for the line, 
everything else looks very good.

the nozzles are dried out. From my manual for my C80,if you have banding,
do a prin nozzlw cleaning. If that doesnt work,do a print head
realignment.\HTH
