  I didn't see this until now. I was there, but too bad we couldn't
hook up. However, that long bus ride, combined with uncomfortable seats
on the bus and in the stations, about did me in. So, it appears that the
only out of state trip I'll do in 2017 (The Good Lord Willing) will be
to the 2017 ARRL Delta Division Convention in Shreveport, the week prior
to the 2017 Huntsville Hamfest.

  I can handle a 5 1/2 hour train ride and a 1 hour Thruway bus
ride...but not a 12 hour bus ordeal, including the layovers.

  Plus, the roundtrip Amtrak Coach/Thruway Bus fare was only $70. The
bus dropped me off at the Baggage Claim area at the Shreveport Regional
Airport. While I had to call a taxi to get to my hotel, that was
"offset" by having a Waffle House and an IHOP on either side. Needless
to say, I took full advantage of the term "H.A.M." -- H)ave A)nother
M)eal. :)
