From: John Beckett "Geo." wrote in message news:: > You are looking at volume or numbers, I'm looking at what came first, > second, third. The evolutionary order is what decides direction, not volume. > Volume is simply a function of reproduction ability and food supply, > habitation, etc.. And the winner is ... SARS! (or whatever the most-recently evolved organism is) Don't take it personally Geo. Evolutionists are not saying that "Bacteria Is Good". Humans don't have to feel bad about being weirdly different from the common forms of life. A human is a sublime being, a paragon of virtue, etc. Enjoy it! It may be that once intelligence enters the picture that really great things happen (cultural effects such as generation-to-generation knowledge). But what came first? Physical stuff like tool-making hands, or intelligence? The answer is Neither! They evolved together. > Does that mean there is no direction to cpu development? I don't have the stamina for "a watch was built by a watch maker" argument at the moment, so I will just baldly assert that CPUs are designed by people who have a purpose, and who provide a direction to CPU development. The same is not true of animals. John --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
