-=> Quoting Holger Skurbe to Bobbie Beers <=-
Hello Holger,
HS> 911 calls are taped and have to be kept for a certain amount of time,
HS> depending on the jurisdiction. One state, went to court to keep 911
HS> taped calls the property of the local jurisdiction, but got sent back
HS> because of the "public interest."
Makes sense.
HS> I love that person (haven't been paying attention to the names of
HS> writers here) who won't understand that it is a federal offense to
HS> listen to ANY phone calls. I guess he will never believe anyone. I'm
HS> getting kind of tired of it.
Some people just don't like to be told "no", others believe the rules are
for everyone else but them, and others believe a person makes up the rules as
you go along.
HS> I am a police officer and just recently worked on a group 2 undercover
HS> operation with the FBI on cable signal theft, which led us to phone
HS> cloners, which led to money laundering, which led to a bank being
HS> taken down in the Caymen Islands, which led to search warrants across
HS> the country in march "95, which led to arrests in march of this year,
HS> etc. ect......
Lots of interesting things going on in the Caymans! Maybe we should all
vacation there with scanners, of course!
HS> Can't say anymore because we have yet to go to trial in Federal court
HS> here. I would sure like to write a book about it though.
We'll look forward to seeing your name in print!
Bobbie
