You inserted _what_ and it doesn't work?  Xn settings greater than 2 return 
BUSY on most modems.  Perhaps your modem simply doesn't recognize the BUSY 
signal at all - for example, if it were intended for use with a different 
telephone system.
Dial your own number in terminal mode.  If the modem is working and the 
setting is correct, it should respond with "BUSY".
