        I do that on all databases with address information (on the state 
field).  I don't do it on the fly however.  I have a routine that runs at the 
ON UPDATE event for that field that converts the contents to uppercase 
(UCase$).  If you use that method, you have to test for a null value before 
running the conversion of you'll get an error if nothing enters it.
