That alone is a reason enough to forget about the old method.

I can understand some very very very knowleadgebles can still do something
with the old method.
But let's be serious. If somebody even doesn't know about config.x, he
isn't very very very knowleadgeble. I do know about 
config.x and even I am not  knowleadgeble.
Programmers still may need an MP, however simple human beings don't, thanks
to a good and nice new feature of eCS.

Tell me, what's the use of leading someone in the World of cumbrousness?
The problem we are talking about can be investigated and perhaps solved
just by launching the eCS install CD. And we are trying to solve a problem,
aren't we?

Why do you want to make it difficult whereas it can be so easy?

Yes, I know, old habits seldom die.
