Well that's good,  sounds like you got lucky there.  Not like the place I 
lived in after the one I mentioned,  which,  aside from having an annoying 
tendency to wet basement,  had a basement light switch where they just ran 
number 14 wire right out of the hole in the box,  stapled to the 2x4,  no 
romex or anything...
I wasn't too happy to see that!
