I saw the promo for the Deep Space Nine season premier this weekend, on
the satellite feed.  A few tidbits below -- after the spoiler space.

The promo, of course, does not reveal very much.  (Actually about 4
different versions of the promo are fed in the closed circuit satellite
feed.)
O'Brien mentions 3 months of war, implying to me that a significant
amount of time has passed since last spring's season finale.
This story is apparently about a special mission Sisko and his people
are sent on -- in a ship other than the Defiant, since an admiral is
seen in the promo telling Sisko that he is no longer the commander of
the Defiant.
We see several scenes of one of the little-documented Starfleet ships
that has a saucer, nacelles, and little else.  I don't recall that a
class name has ever been given, but we have seen this type of ship
before in various battle scenes.
Beyond that, there is little revealed by the promo except several
explosions, etc.
Various comments by the preducers indicate that we will see several
episodes of war, with Sisko and Company only returning to the space
station later in the season.  This episode is clearly our forst look t
that protracted war.
