IIRC usually a tape output is standard and precompensated to be
flat in it's line outputs but this is not so with magnetic or ceramic
phono pickups, radically not so.
However I thought from an earlier post you were in _need_ of a preamp
to input into an auxillery line input on an amplifier, perhaps I'm
mistaken? Either that or the preamp you were planning to use
was compensated for one type of input but not the one output by
the pickup?
The point is rendered entirely moot as you'll never have
enough *room* to get the amplifier into the same room with
the computer
