Except for notebooks, I've built every computer we (family of three, 
each with own computer) have had since 1989 or so, but about three 
months back Dell was offering a deal on Xeon servers that was sorely 
tempting -- cheaper than I could build my own, and free of the Micro$oft 
tax and without one of those keyboards with the F-keys in the wrong 
place or a mouse (I prefer a trackball). It was only because funds were 
a bit tight at the time that I didn't buy one to run eCS SMP.
