A Dog's a dog. I once had to track down a border collie of ours which had
gone bonkers (too bright for their own good border collies). It had
b*ggered off & was chasing horses over barbed wire fences etc so it was
hasta la vista time. Big-ish  forest (Dalby). When I found it it had made a
complete lair & given it had been missing for a few months by that
point it was in very good condition. Very impressive.

What I intensely dislike is people who like to pretend that somehow any
animal is partly human (at least mentally). I feel people who feed up their
dogs on chockies etc are just as guilty of abuse. I once had to rescue a
horse with laminitis which was being abused via "too much love"
(& esp too much food). Belly was almost on the ground & it's legs
were folding under it. We almost had to drag it into a trailer.

"Oh she will stop eating when she's had enough"....."No it's
a "f**king horse you dippy ..... how many horses dig for carrots &
live in fields of molasses covered corn????".

NB by "molasses covered corn" I mean oats/wheat/barley rolled
flat & covered in a dark raw sugar known as molasses.
