What a long strange trip it's been.  The latest leg of the journey has
been from Philadelphia BACK to the Washington DC area.  Neither Esther
nor I could find jobs up there, so once Dad was about to be safely
ensconced in a continuing-care home (with lots of helpful advice from
Tom Pardue, for those of you who remember him), I convinced Esther to
take a trip back to DC and check what jobs her agency would have for her
if she were to come back.  (She was technically on a leave of absence,
so they had to give her *A* job, just not necessarily the one she left.)
It turned out that a very plum job she had had her eye on for a year and
a half was open.  She applied and got it.  So, instead of coming back
around next March or so (her leave would expire in April), we came back
in November! Long story short, we accelerated fixing up, clearing out,
and selling off Dad's house (we got the last of our stuff out last week,
and settlement is tomorrow!), we found a nice house in Fairfax VA (about
four miles from our old digs in Vienna VA), and I'm still looking for
work (resume etc. available at http://dja2001.home.att.net).
