Kitty, save thyself!
Tipper, a cat belonging to Gail Curtis of Tampa, Fla., was rescued in
July while choking on his flea collar when, in the struggle, he knocked
a telephone off a table and accidentally hit the speed dial button for

But was the bullet properly sterilized?
Oron Carlton, 65, was accused by Dallas police in December, 1992 of the
shooting death of Ray Perez Johnson, 51. After a cat jumped onto their
dining table at breakfast, the men got into a fight over whether it was
unsanitary to have a cat on the table, and eventually Carlton allegedly
shot Johnson.
The shrink's couch must be covered with cat hair!
A February, 1997 Associated Press story described how two Berkeley,
California people, Raphaela Pope and Sam Louie, became prosperous
telepathic "pet psychics." Pope charges $40 per half-hour by telephone,
which sometimes includes talking directly to the pet. One of her
customers claimed, "I learned (from Pope) that Scarlette (the cat)
thought I didn't want her around. Scarlette changed immediately after
talking to Raphaela, and we're happy again."
Always keep Fluffy off the landing field
In July, 1993, seconds after Pat Lees' prize pigeon Percy won a
France-to-Sheffield (England) homing race, beating out 900 others, a cat
pounced on it and ate it. By the time Lees could retrieve Percy's tag,
as proof that it had finished the race, two other pigeons had landed,
giving the late Percy only third place.
