E-IDE drives should work fine, although the Amiga's IDE interface won't
take advantage of the drive's Enhanced IDE design. You'll get around
1.7mb/sec transfers.

I've got a 2.5gig Quantum installed in my A1200 and it works fine. Even
though it doesn't cold-boot, but you only have to swith the machine on once
a day, so that's not much of a hassle.

I reccomend the Segate Slimline Hard-Drives highly ! They are slightly more
expensive than the others, but they're the best and most reliable
Hard-drives you can get for your Amiga. (I wish I bought one instead of the
Quantum, but it gets a bit too expensive at 2.5gig)

An advice : Get the largest possible drive you can afford ! I thought this
2.5gig was going to be enough, but I've only had it for 3 months and I have
to buy a JAZ-drive soon for extra storage, as it's already 80% full.

Cheers,

Stephen Fellner
