I have a couple of newsletters that I would like to make available on a
web site. Unfortunately, they were stored as PDF files - each page as its
own file (there are 8 or 10 pages in each NL).
In addition, the pdf files are essentially binary files, starting out with
stuff like this:
%PDF-1.3
%
15 0 obj
<<
/Linearized 1
/O 17
/H [ 1232 250 ]
/L 845548
/E 844276
/N 1
/T 845130
>>
endobj
followed by what appears to be strictly binary data (there are images
on just about every page).
Interestingly enough, the length of the file is 845548 bytes.
Is there any way to glue these together so that each NL is a single file?
I tried using ghost to convert PDF to PS but it took a while, and a single
page ended up as better than 12 MB at relatively low (read unacceptable)
resolution, so converting everything to PS, glueing that together and then
going back to PDF doesn't look like an acceptable option.
