RM>Hello All,
RM>This may not be the right place to ask, but you never know . . . .
RM>I have some old headphones here (it says 1940 on them, but I don't know if
RM>that is the model no., or the year of manufacture!). Anyway, the old
loth/
RM>rubber insulated "Y" shaped wire on them has perished.
RM>Does anyone know of a place that sells replacement cords?
RM>These cans are really low-fi, but I find them useful, and they are
robably
RM>20 years older than me so I'd like to keep them going.
RM>Any ideas?
Without going directly to the OEM for direct replacement, you're gonna
hafta punt, I guess...there are some places in large metro areas that
specialize in antique wiring restorations and you can find generic
replacements for old-style wiring, but stuff that comes specially molded
into Y...well...that's definitely another matter altogether. There's a
place here in Tempe, whose name I forget but a friend of mine works
there, and I suppose I could do some research there as time permits.
-----however-------
What I'm about to suggest is a very very VERY longshot, but I happen to
know that the OEM manufacturer I'm about to name has also been very good
about supplying OEM replacement parts, including wiring and motors, for
nearly all of its now-antiqued older equipment--but I'm talking about
Singer, the sewing machine maker. You might find it more expedient to
ask the dealer/repairshop nearest you about a workable arrangement.
