If man had been around at the time of the dinosaurs, he might well have
developed faster than he did and that development would not have involved
hole digging or running capabilities but weapon capabilities as indeed man
did later when confronted with predator beasts that were stronger than he. 
As for the size of some of the dinosaurs, that would have been no big deal.
Early man was quite adept at killing even wooly mammoths.
