Seems to me a smart dinosaur hunter would have a much better chance at
feeding than a dumb one, I would say smart prey would be harder to catch
than dumb prey as well.

Intelligence is a selected trait, true fast runners would also be selected
but that doesn't rule out intelligence being a selected trait, you can have
more than one selected trait .
