Which is of course why plasma physics is a vitally important part
of physics

Touche.
A group of large-brained hominids, on a tiny rock circling an ordinary
star in an ordinary galaxy that is one among billions of galaxies, has
succeeded at getting a pretty reliable grasp (note typically hominid
term) of matter _as it now exists_. Working backward from the seeming
expansion and evolution of the universe, these cunning hominids can
piece together a model in which all matter runs backwards into what
they call a singularity. (Whether this model is valid or not remains
to be seen.) They can build models of the proposed singularity only
so long as matter as they know it still exists. And this model,
in its earliest moments, does not depend on just what they call
relativity, but also on quantum physics, which is to say the
physics of the very teeny. Relativity is only one factor.
These hominids know that their knowledge of reality is based on
matter as it now exists, and their model takes them back into a
singularity where matter as it now exists did not exist. Beyond
that point, they not only don't know, they cannot know.
From personal experience, I can tell you that if there is anything
that agitates these hominids more than not knowing, it is the
realization that there are things they cannot know, ever.
Research has shown that if these hominids are given a choice of
admitting they do not know, or 'knowing' something that is a
pure invention of their own dream-logic, they will almost always
choose the latter.
See how cleverly I managed to make this on-topic?
