WH> This looks like one of the recent topics on the In-Joy
WH> mail list. Try copying \mptn\etc\resolv to
WH> \mptn\etc\resolv2. You might also just delete
WH> \mptn\etc\resolv - that also seems to work.
Good advice. It took me a while to figure this out.
WH> Another funny with a new install is that some

Very good point also. I just recently discovered the same
thing. Had to adjust my Autoexec.bat. Anyone with a LAN
that's working fine in an OS/2 window (as far as name
resolution is concerned especially) but is having trouble
with name resolution in a DOS session probably has this
problem. I did.
Also, I've noticed that if you install your internet stuff
(ADAPTER 0 - NONE) first your %etc% variable is set to
\tcpip\etc. If you install your real LAN adapter first
your %etc% variable is set to \mptn\etc. Doesn't really
matter as long as (as you say) the DOS and the OS/2
sessions match.
