What sort of LAN software is this (OS/2 Peer ?  LANTastic for OS/2 ?), and 
what is displaying the error message (the BBS software ?  the hard error 
daemon on your fileserver ?  the hard error daemond on your client 
workstations ?) ?
You would probably find more help if you ask in the OS2LAN echo, 
incidentally.  This is the OS2DOS echo, where we discuss DOS and DOS+Windows 
software running under OS/2.  The OS2LAN echo is for discussing netework 
problems.
