Today (November 18) is the 68th anniversary of the premiere of the Disney
short cartoon "Steamboat Willie".  In that cartoon the Disney characters
of Mickey and Minnie Mouse were introduced to the world.  The success of
"Steamboat Willie" and the popularity of Mickey Mouse spawned hundreds of
other Disney cartoon shorts, feature length animated films, theme parks,
TV shows, and what eventually became a worldwide entertainment leader in
corporations, The Walt Disney Company.  Thank you Walt Disney and all the
staff of Disney today for bringing us the magic and delight of Mickey
Mouse and all that followed.  Happy birthday, Mickey & Minnie Mouse!
