While tripping merrily through the mail, Thom Kouwenhoven was overheard
JK> Well... I happen to know a couple of DJs that still use Vinyl. But good
JK> sound reproduction means nothing to them, all they do is ruin the
JK> stylus'...
TK> Yes, I know that type.....Those are not the ones that I mean and
TK> definitely no pro's...
JK> On the road, turntables are only used for scratching.
TK> Nope....not in my kind of work....scratchers are a minority over here.
I still use vinyl for DJ work, and NOT for "scratching" either! I specialize
in late 50's, early 60's "sock hops" and a lot of the music I play just
isn't available on CD. In fact, some of the surface noise adds "charm"
and "nostalgia" to the music, my customers actually LIKE that I'm using
the original 45's. :-)
Don
... Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
