subject: A - Index & MW

Hi guys
We have been having an interesting discussion on the Net in Hardcore DX on
decent MW conditions & what the A Index (Or K) was at the time.
Has anybody bothered to keep a log of what the solar conditions were like and
what the local A & K indexes were when we have had some above average dx?
Of course.. locations.. Geomagnetic paths & all sorts of other variables come
into it.. but I'm wondering if someone has noticed a pattern?
I have experienced some good openings during & before major storming.. not
always but sometimes..
Over christmas we had a few days where the A Index was 0 & the K Index was
zero for ages.. However conditions were not flash at all.. Nothing seemed to
be propagating.. which led a few of us to believe that conditions were just
too quiet.. You need just a wee bit of activity..
Any thoughts?
Cheers
