Subject: a recipe in the October Monitor
Those of you who read the Recipes column in the October Monitor
will
notice one called "$250.00 cookies."  This recipe and its related
comments have been around a long time on all kinds of cooking
forums and such.  It is commonly referred to as an Urban Legend.
In fact, here are the comments of one of the participants on the
"Cook's Corner," forum on the Delphi internet service.
"Regarding the $250.00 cookie legend, Neiman Marcus has a rebuttal
on their
website.  It says, in essence that they don't sell that kind of
cookie,
and they don't charge for recipes."
What I am getting at is that no one is printing copyrighted
material without permission and no one has stolen anything and
from what I have heard, it is an excellent recipe.
