Dear Eloise,
    May i suggest that you crochet or half-hitch yarn [rug yarn cover
fastest and has the most friction-to keep things from falling off the
hanger]  around and around the hanger except for the hook.   It uses up bits
of yarn and is pretty and bright.  Small silk flowers can be added or a
potpouri bag.
