What's not to like? The Trade Deficit and Crude Oil hit new record
highs, and GM reduced guidance, prompting Standard&Poors to downgrade
GM's $3B of bonds to junk status. THAT'S going to get take some people
in the neck! I'm being facetious because this is all so predictable.
How many years now have the autos been bending over to sell cars,
offering incentives like free financing? I distinctly remember
mentioning here the talk about cannibalizing future sales. Dem chickens
done come home to roost! One of these days the Board Room is going to
quit tying executive pay so closely to Street performance and give the
Executive Suites incentive to ignore "hitting our numbers" in favor of
long term business management. Ummm, maybe not.

In any event the Street certainly didn't like the taste of their own
cooking today. Prices closed down another 10pts, more like 14pts would
have been significant, on higher volume, +6% above average.

Prices are falling, through the 50-day Moving Average, on higher volume.
The Oscillator is falling like a rock, as is the Summation Index.
Support might be down around the 200-day Moving Average, now near 1150.
If not, it's "Katie, bar the door!" The word that DOESN'T come to mind
is: "moo".

Price Vola- Momen- Volume Oscil- Summ.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: SELL Date: 03/15/05 S&P: 1198
Winner or Loser: Loser By: -9
