This looks like one of the recent topics on the In-Joy mail list.  Try
copying \mptn\etc\resolv to \mptn\etc\resolv2.  You might also just
delete \mptn\etc\resolv - that also seems to work.
Another funny with a new install is that some sequences set the ETC
environment variable differently in the DOS autoexec.bat and the
config.sys.  The one in config.sys should be correct and they should
match.
