Hi, Mark. Castor oil is hydrophobic, it is the methanol that strongly
absorbs water which leads to rust. This is why fuel cans and jugs should
be TIGHTLY capped with a gasket under the lid.

I have never used fuel with all-synthetic oil so I can't compare (I'm not
sure I would know how, unless I lost an engine). With the present prices
on good engines, I don't want to experiment - so - I'll stay with what
works with us. BTW, you're doing a good job as echo moderator - thanks.
