> not need at all. Hperactive children -can't- sit still for extended
periods
AH> The exception to the rule being when the television's on...then they can
AH> sit for as long as a half hour or so, if, and only if, they're
interested AH> in the show. As far as I've seen that's the only exception.
Sega and Nintendo style games can also occupy them for a good while -- if you
can keep them from yanking the cords too badly!
AH> Perhaps, it's because the
AH> TV is geared toward people with 20 second attention spans.
Standard sitcoms... Try for an hour, with Star Trek: Next Generation reruns,
or the rest of the Star Trek genre. At least those have interpersonal and
professional skills readily displayed, and they touch on a lot of the issues
available in the press...
AH> Other than that, sitting still is pretty much out of
AH> the question. I have two
AH> diagnosed ADHD, and one I highly suspect is (I wait
AH> till it gets unbearable
AH> before I bring on the medication issue :-/). They inherited it from
heir
AH> father. Needless to say, I sleep well at night!
They sure keep you hopping, all right!
B*B!
